Prelude - Part IIIIt was a little past midnight and the library was still open. Just for them, too, it seemed. Luana found it strange, she could swear it always closed at five but didn’t complain. They had managed to get the huge assignment done, and she had just called her parents to tell them she was going home. Everyone said goodbye and left. They all looked tired but satisfied.Prelude - Part III
Luana gathered her pens and textbooks and papers when Alexander walked up to her. She was startled and dropped everything. He helped her pick up her things from the ground even though she insisted he didn’t have to.

As she approached the building the silence that had been ringing in her ears disappeared. The air was filled with hundreds of young voices that were loud enough for her to know that she wasn’t that late; the school bell was yet to ring and that cheered her up. The small girl rushed through corridors and past people towards her grey locker. She tossed her bag inside and took her math textbook and homework.

She stirred in her bed not fully awake but unable to go back to sleep thanks to the two little creatures that hopped around her room. She groaned and the creatures laughed. Dirty little goblins, they were!
“You’ll be late for school again, sis!”
“Yeah, yeah! Late again! And we’ll eat your waffles too!”
